THE UNESTABLISHED FEMALE ARTIST

“The Unestablished Female Artist” was created in 2008. The sculpture represents the artist herself, i.e. the cast of her body dressed in her own clothes. The centre of interest is on the body itself and its presence in space. Primarily, the idea is that the body should surprise and startle the one who looks at it at first and then cause an uncomfortable feeling which we have when something is out of place, when something bothers us. This body represents the alter ego of the artist herself - hence the decision to place the sculpture on the floor in the exhibition area of the “Remont” Gallery, unlike in the exhibition area of the Sculpture Department of the FFA (the Faculty of Fine Arts), in other words, in the next institutional instance the artist feels less frustrated and can come back down from the “ceiling”.
