Paul Wood Coal is not often used as a sculptural material. A shame really, as it can, as here, or intricately carved, be a very beautiful material. I have sometimes carved in coal, and find it good to work. The grain, and wonderful black shine are fascinating to work with. June 15, 2012 at 2:21 am
