In one of the greenhouses of the Verbeke Art Foundation is an engine made of black oil-containing materials and is illuminated by two heating lamps. These lamps react to the movement of cars on the highway Antwerp - Bruges, which is close to the Verbeke Foundation. The engine will melt very slowly and transforms from a technical-constructed shape into a more organic form. (The sculpture still has to melt further in a next exhibition)

'For me it's a wonderful metaphor for our boundless faith in technology, progress versus the exhaustion of nature. The greenhouse, a place where nature and technology meet, reinforces this again. Like most contributions to the exhibition not pamphlet like but introverted.' Peke Hofman
