This etching is also from my series entitled MYSTERIOUS PLACES/SACRED SPACES. Walt Whitman was the poet of Universalism and ushered into existence – through his poetry – a new form of democratic mysticism for the common people; his work stressed equality between the races, sexes, classes, and religions (unlike any poet in the United States before him).
The artistic techniques employed include intaglio, aquatint, and drypoint. This work is presented in three very limited editions of only ten prints each (each executed in a different colors ink/paper combination). This edition of ten is executed in black etching ink (oil-based, Charbonnel Brand/France) on Rives BFK Gray Printmaking Paper (France). Image size is 8 inches wide (20.3cm by 15.2cm) by 6 inches high
Frame size is normally 14 inches wide by 11 inches high (35.5cm by 28cm). Paper size of print measures slightly below frame size in order to fit mat. All framing materials are acid-free.
