This six-plate etching takes its inspiration from a photo taken at Stonehenge in England. The techniques of intaglio, drypoint, and aquatint are used in conjunction with the chine collé (Chinese pasting) process of merging mulberry bark paper onto the print during the printing press process. It is executed using an intense black ink (oil-based, Charbonnel Brand) on Rives BFK white paper (both manufactured in France). The image is etched on six individual zinc plates that each measure three inches high (7.6 cm) by two inches wide (5 cm). A space of ₅⁄₁₆ of one inch separates each plate (approximately 1 mm). The paper/print size is 22” long x 7.5” high (65 cm by 20 cm); framed size varies but is close to 30” wide x 15” high (76 x 38 cm). All mats are museum quality. This is from the FIRST EDITION of ten prints. ARTWORK IMAGE SIZE GIVEN BELOW IS ACTUAL FRAMED SIZE. Shipment of work is NOT included in price; this varies with method and by destination.
