Art Description

Original, one-off, Polaroid emulsion lift composite on paper, from expired Polaroid 669 and ID-UV film.

Shots taken in Dungeness, Whitstable, Wales, Poplar, Whitehall, Barbican, Denmark. 2011.

Process
----------

Polaroid emulsion lifts are created by placing individual images into hot water until the emulsion starts the detach from the paper backing of the photograph. This emulsion layer is carefully removed with a brush until it floats free. To create this piece, I then submerged a piece of acetate into the water and repositioned the emulsion layer so that it was flat and even, and then used the acetate sheet to transfer my image to the substrate. Between each layer, I dried the composite, before placing another.

Hyungyung Bae process of this work is very interesting :D wow I love how its so delicate that it expresses theme of the work.. also I love the bold composition that has big building in the center,as well as color. Amazing :)
