By the time the picture of a crucifixion to the female was in my mind. I was looking for a poor, poor cross, unpretentious, and finally I found it at Marettimo, during a walk to the old port. When I saw this "tool", this species cross used by sailors as a means to tow boats, worn out by time, by the sea and the Sun, it was natural lay my body, as you know, stuff in a history of fatigue and pain. This work was born: "it is truly a cross".

Da tempo l'immagine di una crocifissione al femminile era nella mia mente.
Cercavo una croce povera, misera, senza pretese, e finalmente l'ho trovata a Marettimo, durante una passeggiata al porto vecchio.
Quando ho visto questo "attrezzo", questa specie di croce usata dai marinai come mezzo per trainare barche,
usurata dal tempo, dal mare e dal sole,
è stato naturale stendere il mio corpo, come voler conoscere, anzi riconoscermi in un passato di fatica e di dolore.
Così è nato questo lavoro: "è veramente una croce".
