Art Description

Description: Ziggurat is a site specific sculptural installation made entirely from wooden floor blocks within the abandoned Fisher Body Plant 21. Vacant for over 20 years, the elements have deteriorated Fisher Body, turning it into a cave-like atmosphere, with calcium deposit stalactites and stalagmites forming as water and snow make their way through the roof and windows. The factory has been stripped clean by scrappers, with the exception being millions of wooden blocks that have buckled in vein-like patterns over years of freezing and thawing.
