This is a photographic piece of my first water based sculpture. Photographers love these pieces as they are so interesting to take pictures of. This one, shot in darkness, is one I directed. It looks fantastic in contemporary surroundings either as a plain stretched canvas or with a block white frame. The sculpture was produced using specialist software that I developed that reinterpreted the mathematics of the behaviour of water. This was the first example based on water ripples and was handmade from plywood. My software produced the templates which I used cut the 65 pieces out using a pneumatic fret saw - very painstaking, but still achieved the laser accuracy I wanted (I had to enter a trance like state of concentration in order to do this) . Newer versions I now produce using computer aided manufacture (this was an original handmade piece)
