SIGNED, LIMITED EDITION PRINT OF 300. "Urban Cubes" is an iconic piece from the 2007 digital photographic series entitled, "Urbana", by American artist and philosopher, Denise C. Marts. The Urbana Series is part of an ongoing exploration of photographic realism in urban architecture in which the subject matter is deconstructed and reconstructed in a manner similar to that which that took place in the medium of paint at the turn of the last century. There is an intentional, highly symbolic element to the larger series in which the curvature of linear lines of urban architecture represents the softening and bending and questioning of rationalism that is taking place as its outcome in the world is bringing its viability more and more into question.
