Caitlin Karolczak This portrait was done on a timer in preparation for an out of state show - I needed images for promotion, etc.
I guess I haven't seen many round "canvases". It is in fact a panel. The painting was nearly finished, and I opted to put the painting in the frame for two reasons: The first, I bought this beautiful antique carved frame and made the painting especially for it. I don't think self portraits are necissarily a sign of maturity. I think most artists do them at all stages of their career.
