This photograph is part of a series of landscapes, urban and rural. As a Social Anthropologist I am interested in looking at people as part of a culture, and in particular the interaction between people and their environment.
Sometimes there is direct contact between nature and culture. This scene was captured at the last day of Roskilde Festival in Denmark in 2000. During this festival 9 people were crushed to death during a Pearl Jam concert. This surreal scene, with a small tornado that blew up all the rubbish on the festival field on the last day of the festival, was to me those 9 people coming down to say their last good byes.
Maria Konstanse Bruun Thank you! I feel very lucky to have been able to catch that moment on film.

Mario Scattoloni A beautiful homage to those dearly departed souls. The story is a tear jerker to say the least...I always wonder what happens in these cases were people die to see a concert those are truly hardcore fans, RIP.
