Combining hand-drawn chalk backgrounds with nude subjects, my photography series,  "Chemicals" depicts  civilians as the collateral damage of industrial prosperity. Expressionistic use of chalk, an erasable medium, highlights the fragility of living in a toxic world.

This photo represents how GMO's or genetically modified organisms, owned and patented by billion-dollar corporations, are replacing indigenous crops like corn, rice and soy, without any regard for human health or the natural environment.


This image was shot on 35mm black & white film and the drawing was completed during the picture-taking process. Instead of paint, I used the expressionistic properties of chalk and eraser dust.
