Johann Guava This is a wonderful piece. It has a strange, almost surreal quality. The water reflection, and the light quality and the solitude of the island.
Rework it without the black line running along the land. And lighten up on the straight-from-the-tube blue. It's too dense.
I do not like the texture in the paper. it serves no purpose except to distract from your vision.
I would keep working this subject. You have a good feel for it.

Dana Fitzgerald oh, it was one of those resurrection paintings...did the sky/trees, then left it, found it later and added the sea, pulling down colors from the island as reflection...first time for the technique...doing one of a night city, with the evening lights sparkling off the dark water, the building modelled in texture medium to give 3-D ambiance, while using acrylic to paint the buildings/sky/reflections and lights.
