Art Description

The work is devoted to Michelangelo Merisi ( Caravaggio). Considering the outrageous audacity to even approach his pictorial genius, I wanted to pay him homage representing the end of his earthly life and imagining it as caused by a yearning and immense act of love.
The author was "Bacchus", namely Mario Minniti?

L'opera è dedicata a Michelangelo Merisi(Caravaggio). Ritenendo oltraggioso anche solo l'ardire di avvicinarsi al suo genio pittorico, ho voluto invece rendergli omaggio rappresentando la fine della sua vita terrena, immaginandola come provocata da uno struggente, immenso atto d'amore. L'autore fu "Bacco" , e cioè Mario Minniti?
