One of the last in the Hidden Series from 2009, and still one of my favorites. The entire series played with a limited palette and a limited visual vocabulary that meant lots of time to play with composition and the communication of human interactions using the interior as the analog. The mental vision of the black chair led me first to find the black chair itself, imagined and then found a few weeks later at a furniture shop -- and then led to finding the studio itself that would be a suitable space for executing the series. Some 36 original sketches resulted in about 18 images for the series in sizes ranging from 5 inches to 5 feet in height.
