Art Description

My current "Technology Series" oil paintings address how our culture is being funneled thru technology, the potential irony, distraction, seduction, alienation, isolation and how they affect the way we relate and communicate with each other. These issues and subjects are explored thru images of people as characters in different settings interacting with each other and technological devices. The tech devices themselves, such as computers, cell phones, video games, television etc., supply an infinite display of subject matter as diverse as the internet itself.

Relja Penezic This is a masterpiece in my opinion. It's amazing what a great painting can do. If I haven't seen it I would consider concept behind it obvious, predictable, even tired, without much potential. But this image is presenting it with such stunning clarity and power. Great staging, composition, position and postures of the figures -- their whole bodies are absorbed by gadgets. Alienation is palpable. I can see how one day this painting could be considered relevant to our time as much as the wo
