Slowly, through observation, I developed an interest for the shadows cast by trees on facades and their reflections in windows. This interest led me to develop a somewhat surreal imagery evoking an ambivalent notion of time and place in which I suggest a breakdown of the barriers between the interior and the exterior, the past and the present. At first glance, these paintings seem quite realistic, but once examined more thoroughly they reveal contradictory information. For example, in some of these images one can see both bare (winter) and leafy (summer) trees among the trees seen in the background, in the reflections in the windows and in the shadows on the facades.
