THE REDEFINING LANDSCAPE SERIES

Contrasting classical landscape painting with the immediacy of Abstract Expressionist techniques on a single surface, the Redefining Landscape series is meant to expose viewers to the reality of some of today's national landscapes which are being redefined through massive man-made processes of resource extraction. In particular, the paintings focus on mountain top removal in the Appalachian Mountains of the United States.
