This oil pastels and spray paint painting is part of a series I call "Urban Jungles". I had the idea for this series during a trip to Tikal, in Guatemala, where an entire city has disappeared, swallowed by jungle. Later on, there was a neglected house, next door to mine, with its bushes and trees taking roots in the decks. Heck, take any paved road, without proper maintenance; it won't be long until the surface cracks and life starts pushing through. So, what if we were gone?
