The Eel. The frenetic energy and buzz of London life are so much reflected in this creature. Formerly a popular dish for London's last generation, and certainly an unsung symbol of London. His wildness, ferocity and toothsome warning remind you of all the insane mixture of colours and strange states of consciousness that London comprises of. Like so many major cities the sense of living in the city is always to be swimming amongst the predators and this small eel is no different. The rich colours are directly reflected by the colourful area of Camden which I reside. Ferocious, predatory and colourful is the real London. I am also quite attached to this painting. I just love the colours and hope my future paintings take a cue from this one.
