About The Artwork

What is moving? Am I moving? Is the landscape moving in front of my eyes? Do I let the landscape pass by in an accelerating time rhythm? Am I running? Is time running or is it standing still within those rooms of quietness? Am I quietness within the movement or am I sitting in the train of time? The white color gamut is of enormous interest to me within my artistic work for almost thirty years. Within the painting process however, the white color can only be attempted at because the range of the white color gamut is very narrow. I can only move on a very small ridge thus seeking to formulate the respective state within the painting process. The pure white color will and must remain unfulfilled. During this contemplative painting process of putting one layer above the other whilst watching in a state of restraint I try to let things happen by surrendering without any aim and not wanting anything. Only by this way transformation can take place. This result is volatilization, melting out and transition. What remains are overlaid colored formations of structures. In between those layers emerges a spatial quality but only with short spatial depth, a sort of light space like an atmosphere. The formations of structures are like floating elements. The light of the atmosphere surrounding it is penetrating them. That is why coloring is always slight because solely by attempting to achieve whiteness a direct contribution of colors to the atmosphere is possible.
