Manipulating and rotating a two-dimensional plane can form different geometries. Naturally, the effects of a revolving body in space can be determined by the application of integral calculus. In order to obtain a real image, I used a computer program and the concept of turning, pulling, spinning, and twisting a two-dimensional image and re-creating a three-dimensional form. The initial images that I used were pictures of paintings that I had made in the past. After the process of transforming the images with a computer was complete, I drew out the shapes and started working on paintings based on these re-created forms. I endeavored to delve into the depths of the spiritual by re-creating my art. Merriam-Webster defines re-create to mean “to create again; especially: to form anew in the imagination” (Merriam-Webster Online). The objective is to re-create paintings that interact with the negative space on the wall forming a holistic image. “The holistic image is an image seen all at once as a single form, rather than as parts making up a whole.” (Fineberg 301)
