The basic shapes that all artists know are in all things are important: the cube, the sphere, the cone, cylinder and pyramid. But of these, I love the pyramid; it's been such an ancient icon over the ages.
I also love paint, the paint itself. The way it goes down is always beautiful.
So what the pyramid gives me is a place to hang my color. The way the brushstrokes form is a wonderful thing to examine and then you always come back and rediscover the pyramid and then it’s gone again and you go on looking into the painting. It can be a very pleasurable circle...
