This is part of a set of 3 paintings conveying different ideas about an ‘isolated city’, mainly the monotony of cities like London, with paths going on a journey to nowhere which I have incorporated through the use of map-like areas. I wanted to suggest isolation in crowds by using very busy areas in comparison to large amounts of space, also giving the imagery a dream-like, abstract quality that the viewer can use to apply their own experiences and interpretation about the city.
