Melvin made a video, “Ravel/Unravel”, in 2002 which uses his own image to create a video self-portrait soundtracked by the Ysaye Quartet’s version of Ravels “String Quartet in F Major”. Combining images of the artist retracting into his black polo neck, Melvin animates himself in time with the music. This process has been carried out once again by the artist ten years later and presented side by side the artist relives a moment in time.
