These faceless portraits of Saints are both philosophical and spiritual representation of artist's view on the depiction of Saints. Religions such as Christianity have always labeled holy characters and even God with a human face. Whether it is right to do so,has always been questioned. Islam for example forbids giving holy characters a human face and thus forbids the depiction of saints.
These portraits are of presence and of atmosphere, but not of a human face and its physical features. These faces are of spiritual nature that has no depiction. Here one can find movement of light, and spiritual emotion.
