Eros and Thanatos join in a single act of mark-making.
The two figures are literally burned into the surface of delicate handmade paper. In places, the drawn marks char completely through the support, emphasizing the fragility of the unifying surface. Watercolor accents visually cool off this blistering effect. American and Iraqui figures interact, their camo bleeding unto the ground of the paper or transforming into Islamic designs.
