The work ''The Shadow And A Sleeping Face'' is created with a focus on texture, minimal use of color, depiction of light and deep shadow, rhythm of lines.
It is produced with a sewing machine, using simple stitch, light blueish grey polyester thread on a brown linen canvas.
Interpretation for the theme I found, when one warm summer night returned home and chatting with my friend on the street, I noticed this shadow thrown by flowers-pots hanged in my neighbor window.
I was inspired of the beautiful colors - something between silver, blue and grey. This old dusty window looked marvelous and mysterious at sleeping city night.
I wanted to do that with textiles - to copy hardly described colors, shadows and highlights, and recreate all that night atmosphere.
The work consists of two separate frames stretched with a canvas. Left - 70x100cm, right - 70x60cm
