I think my most recent series of drawings might reflect, in some way, the great feeling of uncertainty and the deep sense of frustration and failure that during the latest years have marked my vital experience. The decline and decrepitude that has surrounded me for decades I think are also reflected, mostly, in my recent two-dimensional works. I have tried to imbue the pieces with an air of weightlessness, suspension, levitation, which refer the inert, the weariness, the feeling of exclusion and the inevitable sense of resignation that have generated them. For example, "Philanthropy" is a series of drawings referred to the sealed or closed hermetically, to the isolated, confined and also to the masks and the concealments. These drawing pretend to speak about the fallacies and lies which hinder our insertion into a reality increasingly alien and fragmented. It is a series of drawings that speaks of poses, costumes and false instituted truths. It Talks of transmutations and metamorphoses as inevitable alternatives to the authoritarian soliloquies. It Talks about weightlessness; about of what is hanging (pending) and is not defined, but above all, talks about what is beyond, out of our reach to be modified.
