This work belongs to a series of three called "The Pantheon". Each side of the dodekahedron is dedicated to one of the twelve Olympian Gods and each work presents four of them. Here we see Apollo, Aphrodite, Zeus and Hermes.
The conceptual idea of this work, consolidated once more by this publication, is already applied on three-dimensional polyhedrons.
The dodekahedron is the one form that stood out from the other four platonic solids (tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron and icosahedron). Plato considered it to be the perfect polyhedron by which god sorted the universe and the constellations. Plato chose the other four solids to represent the fundamental universal elements (water, air, fire and earth).

The Platonic solids became the subject of study for all important scientists that followed (Euclid, Johannes Kepler and othes) as well an inspirational source for many great artists (Leonardo da Vinci, Albrecht Dürer etc).
