WHAT IS PAKISTANI ART?
Here is one examples from S, Mansur's 1974-81 works

(saved also in MS’ 1981-video recording) which

perhaps were the first attempts to answer the above

question in certain time and region. Art is not only

what we see in museum or art galleries, art exist among

people, variation in everything among communities is

the variation in their art and these zonal variations

or shades also has their rise and fall or merging in

other zones and era resulting in new shades. I found

myself in region in the time when this zone is called

Pakistan, so in 1974 I decided to study and record

(photographically, etc.) everything in Pakistan that

such data will help me to create such art works that

can record the zonal variations of my era in archetypal

manner which later I found is also a contribution in

anthropology, that’s why I call my work “art and

science”. Thus I deserve the honorary PhD degree in

anthropology and fine art. Lets see in time which

university take such a bold step.
