In my works I incorporate various materials with symbolic or iconic elements, which are taken from different cultures as souvenirs or relics.
Through a process of displacement, these elements are adopted into the warm Israeli embrace to create a new past based on borrowed identities.
The duplication of the butterfly in my work creates a pattern that imitates the fabric of the kaffiyah.
As part of the working process I investigated the term "mimicry" that stand for a phenomena in behavioral biology in which a plant or an animal adopt visual resemblance to another object in their natural environment to use its advantage for protection or defense.
