GEO, 2011, mixed media on paper, 30 x 21 cm.
Growing up in an house with few books on the shelves, I had to look after the rare ones I kinda dig. The Little Prince was one of them. I always liked the childish language coming out of St-Exupéry's words, his canned-food philosophy and the tremendous efficiency of the pilot's drawings.
I used to reproduce them lines, sometimes straight_often round, crushing my pens against the thin paper sheets of my school exercice books.
Just like a lot of french kids I guess, I made my own version of The Little Prince, with dozens of elephants in snake's stomachs and green jump-suited blond-hair little boys.
Then, when 2011 jumped into Christmas time, and with not so much money to spend in presents, I thought I could make a 28-yo-man version.
Book ain't finished yet. But the geographer is.
Here's my showdown piece...
