In my painting/collage work I use Vogue magazine cut-outs to recontextualize images and objects against the abstract textures I create on canvas.

I admire the art of high fashion and its highest level of craftsmanship. However, it is a world out of the ordinary, beyond what most people or I can afford. There is a sense of gleeful achievement when I am able to turn this inaccessible realm into a tangible new creation of my own.

I am fascinated by the sublime movement and subtle sensuality of the cut-outs that still evoke the seductive bodies underneath, even when they are blended into layered, vivid abstract textures. The end result is an organic world in motion.
