There are so many images that come into my head! These are influenced by everything from nature to the madness of mankind, the past and the future, hopes and dreams, emotion, life, love. Everything.
...
An instant in Angela Merkels life viewed from within a dream like hinterland. The possibilities entertained in seeking a solution to her vocations issues are trapped around her surreal poppy seed jacket. In her angelic golden sheen she wants to do what she thinks is right but is constantly thwarted by the naughty boys of Europe blowing their budgets. She needs to save her realm but the opposite relentlessly pushes towards her. Sensible verses stupid. Desire versus reality. The opposites are many.
This is a very curious and interesting collage painting to view. The skin tones are all metallic (both the paint and the enamelled wire). The profile of this section is largely smooth. This contrasts wonderfully with the knobbly drifts of poppy seeds lined up near more sparsely populated areas. You get the obvious shine from the skin sections but also the unexpected sparkle where the colour has been leeched from most poppy seeds to a silvered appearance.
Some symbols are clearly right there while others are not so instantly identified. We have the praying hands but are they in silent lament or a mere gesture? We have the gold. We have the industry in wire. We have the masses in volume of seeds. Can you find more?
The number of opposites is probably as many as there are poppy seeds. Is there faith or faithlessness? Merkel has a need to address that must be addressed yet there is no solution. The people have a need to know yet she cannot tell them outright or there will be panic. Merkel is a strong willed woman who struggles to uphold her values while others have shown weakness, unable to tell the population when enough is enough, the coffers are empty. We have the wonder of nature verses the trappings of technology.
Kevin Bramhill For some originals you need to see more than just a photo pointed straight at the main part of the image. In my "Hidden Symbols:Merkel's Opposites" the image continues around the deep box canvas. I've added a section photo on my site so you can see how this might be significant:
