This mixed-media box (COLLAGE/ASSEMBLAGE) incorporates sculpture, printmaking, photography, painting, and digital art. It includes a cast crucifix done in perforated water-soluable plastic; rope, acrylic-paint; a pine wood constructed rectangular box (hinged); a digital photograph; and a monoprint on acetate executed in oil-based ink.
The work explores connections between DaVinci, his work with the Camera Obscura, the Shroud of Turin, the Vitrius Man, and their relationships to the Knights Templar.
This is the second box I have created that deals with this subject, and is almost identical to the first. I intend to execute a series of thirteen boxes of this work, with minot alterations between the individual works. The third will be created when this second one sells.
