Born 1955 Brighton UK. I have been working as an artist since leaving college in 1979. I am working towards seeking a wider recognition for my extraordinary work which has developed over many years....
My original negatives were scanned to digital photo files in 2007. This image is a reconstruction of an original collage, which was exhibited in 1981 at Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool. The original was stolen from the gallery while on show, as a unique artwork it is irreplaceable. This version attempts to restore this work to its former glory. Resembling a cartoon strip it is a collage of six of the photographs comprising the MANBOX BOXMAN image cycle. The strident language refers to a futurist style manifesto. The text explores the MANBOX theme and clearly identifies it as a metaphor for all the restrictions, which bind us within our individual social context.
