I am a freelance illustrator based in Blackburn, Lancashire, in the UK. I work on both personal and professional projects from my home studio. I balance my time between bringing up my two children and scribbling down ideas for current and future illustration work.
After leaving school and studying graphic design at Blackburn college I moved into sign design/manufacturing learning the essentials of placement and spacing of image and text. After several years in this field I embarked on a career in music which enabled me to get involved in the creative process of writing music whilst creating an accompanying visual, in the form of illustration and moving image.
As my obsession grew with visual creativity, more of my focus and energy has been channelled into responding to eclectic references and moving towards a unique and recognisable style.
I am currently working on projects ranging from illustrating fishing books, record sleeves, t-shirt design and editorial work.
My work focuses on a hand made aesthetic, and aims to deliver impact and intelligence in equal measure.
