I am a Brazilian photographer born in Tubarão (Santa Catarina), with background in philosophy and music. In 1999 I studied music at London Music School. Also in that period (1997-1999), I did part time courses in photography at Working Men College, at Kingsway College and worked as a freelance photographer in London. In 2004 I completed the Bachelor Degree in philosophy at the Federal University of Paraná (Curitiba/Brazil). At the same university I took the Master Degree in Philosophy in 2006.
The concern with the temporal aspect of representation entered the horizon of my photographic works as a consequence of my Ph.D. research (started in 2007 at the Federal University of São Carlos - Brazil), on the role of the analysis of time in the work of Ludwig Wittgenstein. My current woks can be seeing as a consequence of my interest in the contemporary philosophy of time and its bearing on photography.
Description: The starting point of Kinesis is the adaptation of John Cage’s prepared piano to photography. This relation became a topic of interest to me as a consequence of my musical studies (especially at London Music School/1999). Previously entering the world of photography and philosophy I trained as a professional musician (in the field of improvisation). As I got acquainted with the world of photography, my first insight was to achieve the same amount of compositional freedom that I found as a musician.
