Curator of "Mas-Mas Gallery", Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
Denis Maslennikov as a photographer, epicurean and balcony gardener has always been inspired by the shapes and contrasts of flowers and nude body.
Raised in Saint-Petersburg (Russia) – city of three sunny month a year, he felt the lack of light. Photography as the art of writing with light* became his favorite hobby and main occupation.
Photographer's inspiration came from the family photo albums created by his grand father and parents. Printing pictures by hands in a small, dark bathroom with a special red lamp was a big magic.
That feeling of magic still exists in the heart of photographer, enjoying the art of writing with light.
* The word photography derives from the Greek words phōs (genitive: phōtós) light, and gráphein, to write.
