Born in Syria in 1977, I studied Civil Engineering at university before coming to study in the UK and later working in London. Throughout the nineties I worked as a 3D Graphic Designer and Tutor. I came to painting fairly late in my career. Following a small project and a short course at an art academy, I felt painting can provide the means of expression I was so desperately seeking. I am self-taught and part of my work is based on experimentation. A major influence in my work is Abstract Expressionism. This came only naturally as I strongly believe in breaking away from old school and creating art that's direct, honest and meaningful!
