After studying fine art at university, Carla left her paint brushes, oils and canvasses behind as she immersed herself in the business of work, marriage and children.

Time passed, life was lived and children grew up ...

Carla resumed her art when a move to England provided her with time and inspiration.

Carla's art focusses on the relationship between colour and our ingrained perceptions of life, situations and understanding of others. On one hand she strives to challenge through the use of colour, whilst at other times she uses colour to express the beauty around her, particularly unusual beauty.

Children feature prominently as subjects due to her belief that children are a commonality amongst all people. This provide her with the perfect stage to challenge perceptions.
Carla's work yearns to mean something, not to be art for it's own sake, instead to be life enhancing, to help us remember those things we most need to live and love, to help us get through this life.

Carla is currently living in Australia and has begun a new series exploring the vagaries of a life lived in this new land.
