Britt Salvesen is the Curator and Department Head of the Prints and Drawings department, and of the Wallis Annenberg Photography Department at LACMA. A historian of modern art and photography, Salvesen earned a master's degree at the University of London's Courtauld Institute of Art and a doctorate at the University of Chicago. Salvesen was previously Director and Chief Curator at the Center for Creative Photography in Tuscon, and before that worked at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Milwaukee Art Museum. She is the curator of many exhibitions including 'Ellsworth Kelly. Prints and Paintings' at LACMA and 'New Topographics' in 2009-12, a re-creation of the influential 1975 exhibition about new landscape photography, as well as solo shows by Harry Callahan, Garry Winogrand and Catherine Opie.
