"From early shows at the infamous 01 Gallery on Melrose Boulevard in Los Angeles during the 1990s, Michael Amter has developed an exquisite personal vocabulary of metaphorical imagery. The artist was originally known for obsessive-complex painting, but over time gradually evolved his expression into a unique graphic language, entertaining thematic properties of scientific theory. Michael Amter's work has exhibited extensively, including the Meridian International Organization's traveling 'True Colors' Memorial 9-11 Tribute. Michael has toiled with a variety of mediums, primarily focused on experimental video - inspired from years of work in film production with companies like Propaganda Films & NBC Television. Michael has a truly diverse background, beginning serious study at Washington University, and participating in a number of Residencies around the Globe, such as the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris, France & the Nagasawa Art Program in Awaji, Japan."
