Annaclara Di Biase
(Turin, 1977)

In my artistic research I want to examine how the body transforms itself trough movements and clothing. The artwork begins with a performance recorded by video and photos. They are traces of transient performances into the domestic or natural space. The model’s body is subjected to temporary transformations, in which new connections with the classic iconography, cinema, theatre and music are created. clothes, accessories and everything that can make the mutation happen, is very important. Clothes that are used during the performances are vintage dresses or dresses that I sew myself. The performance actions, as well as clothes, let the body become a place to investigate and a place in which borders are redefined.
