Trained as a painter at Stanford University, switched to photography and worked as a newspaper and magazine photographer publishing in the New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal and others. Works on documentary projects about religion. Published the photo book, "Vodou Brooklyn: Five Ceremonies with Mambo Marie Carmel" with the Caribbean Studies Press. Speaks Arabic and has traveled extensively in the Middle East. Lives in Brooklyn with Husband and two young children.
