I paint because I cannot help myself from painting. Unfortunately, I, like billions of others, have to earn a living and I do it by selling my paintings. I miss them for a while, but then I move on and become absorbed in the next one and everything is fine again. I will not be beaten by this recession: I will sell my paintings at a price I think people are prepared to pay for them. At the moment that seems to be quite low. But I am a pragmatist: If I don't eat, I will drop dead.
