I often get asked what my work is about and why I create art, Its a very general question, because behind all of my work is a complex history which has outcomes for each piece. What I do hold too is the belief that all my combined life experiences and influences, work their way to the surface and appear in the work. Sometimes intentional and often subliminal. I Like to work in various media which has benefits and draw backs, sometimes the expression of the work is supported by the medium of choice, so that flexibility is important. On the flip side not standing in one place too long in art terms makes it more difficult for an audience to gather.
I am open to influence and absorb what’s around me as a creative spark, often from conversations Ideas spring to life, not all work that I create is based on my personal life but perhaps my response to it.
You will see allot of work based on animals which I feel have a unique ability as a subject matter to reflect humanity. Ultimately I create works because they are in me and have to be released Its like trying to hold in a laugh once the corners of your mouth turn up you have to let it out
