Artist: Khusro Subzwari
(Masters Degree from the University of Oklahoma, USA)
A Self taught Artist,Iwas passionate for art since grade 6, BE Civil Engineering from NED in 1981, took up a job in a construction company in Saudi Arabia, served there for 14 months to gather enough resource for higher degree in USA. Completed Masters degree in Civil Engineering, from the University of Oklahoma, USA, in 1985.Served in USA, in the capacity of ‘Construction Manager’ for 3 years.
I was discovering and enjoying the natural environment and the nature right in the sand dunes and black rock /sandy mountains in Saudi Arabia, till the serene country side of New Jersey, USA. n any location, I could always spot the art in nature’s formations. In those days I wasn’t actively painting, but was actively observing the nature’s beauty and its spread.
I started my engineering business in 1989, but in the past 5 years, the passion for art took over any other field, and now I paint 6-10 hours every day.
The background in engineering proved to be an asset, in understanding and the development of textures, and the three dimensional perspective and balancing of images on canvas.
Currently my main work is on 6 different series
a) Sufism (Whirling Dervish Series)
b) Exotic trees & gardens including the beauty of Organic Life Close ups
c) Beauty and Colors of Nature
d) Peacocks
e) Venice through the eyes of Artist
f) Conceptual Calligraphy

1) First group exhibition and participation in an art competition in 1977, in NED Engineering University . Karachi Pakistan
Gulgee was the judge and awarded 2nd prize in oil painting category.


2) Solo exhibition in Alliance Francaise Karachi. In April 2010, theme: Global Warming and our Earth’s Beauty.
3) Only Pakistani invited to participate in an International Exhibition in Istanbul (TURKEY) June 2011 (Museum in Old city near Sultan Ahmet Blue mosque)
4) Offered a 2nd international exhibition in Istanbul , participated in July 2011
5) exhibition in Nov, 2011 in Art Gallery Louvre, Islamabad , Pakistan
6) Participated in many other group exhibitions for Charity programmes
